SPECIAL CBM BID ROUND - 2025

To harness and augment the Coal Bed Methane (CBM) production in the Country, Government of India launched Special CBM Bid Round (SCBM) – 2025 under the ambit of Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP) through International Competitive Bidding (ICB) for CBM exploration and production.
SCBM-2025 offers 3 Coal bed Methane (CBM) Blocks of area 520 Sq.km spread across two Sedimentary Basins. Two (2) of these Blocks lie in West Bengal and one (1) is situated in Gujrat.

• Prior experience in Oil and Gas Sector NOT mandatory.
• No revenue sharing for Cat-II & III Basins until windfall gain.
• Concessions in Royalty rates for early production.
• Marketing and Pricing Freedom for Gas produced.
• Availability of Gas Grid Infrastructure.
• 100% participation for foreign companies/ JVs.
• Exploration allowed during entire contract period.
• Single License for Conventional & Unconventional Hydrocarbon.
• No overlap with existing/ proposed Coal Blocks/Mines.
